Which fast-food restaurant serves the best burger?
Many of our favorite fast food restaurants, such as McDonald's, Burger King, & Wendy's, began with simply a burger.
They each created such a fantastic sandwich that they decided to build an entire restaurant around it. But what makes a great burger?
To begin with, it should not be frozen. The bun, as much as the juicy, well seasoned burger, makes or breaks the sandwich. Toppings are also useful.
We love the Big Mac, but the McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese really strikes the spot. It wasn't long ago that the menu item went from frozen to fresh, which was a major changer.

Wendy's phrase was "fresh never frozen" for years, long before their competitors did. The Dave's Double is described on the menu as "more meat means more to adore," & we have to agree.

Shack burger raises the bar above casual dining, where you can even order a draft beer. From the potato bun to the patties to the Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon.

The buzz surrounding In-N-Out Burger's hidden menu is more than justified. Their Animal Style Double-Double burger is a West Coast favorite that is perfect for after a day at the beach or in the sun.

Burger King's The Whopper's secret is that the beef is broiled to give it a slightly charred surface. We can obviously tell the difference from others.

Whataburger is a Texas institution that taps into its southern origins with menu offerings like the Pico de Gallo Burger & the Hatch Green Chile Bacon Burger.
