Which fast-food restaurant serves the best burger?

Many of our favorite fast food restaurants, such as McDonald's, Burger King, & Wendy's, began with simply a burger. 

They each created such a fantastic sandwich that they decided to build an entire restaurant around it. But what makes a great burger? 

To begin with, it should not be frozen. The bun, as much as the juicy, well seasoned burger, makes or breaks the sandwich. Toppings are also useful. 

We love the Big Mac, but the McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese really strikes the spot. It wasn't long ago that the menu item went from frozen to fresh, which was a major changer.

Wendy's phrase was "fresh never frozen" for years, long before their competitors did. The Dave's Double is described on the menu as "more meat means more to adore," & we have to agree.
